The Joongmin Foundation for Social Theory will be hosting the 30th Anniversary Symposium on the 'Joongmin Theory' proposed by Professor HAN, Sang-Jin in the 1980s. Experts from Korea and foreign guests from China will be present at the symposium to discuss the state of the 'joongmin' (middling grassroots) in the polarized society as well as the far-reaching implications of the theory itself.
The symposium will examine the history and meaning of the theory and who counts as 'joongmin'. There will also be firsthand accounts from those who have personally experienced being part of 'joongmin'.
