After the workshop "The Challenge of Risk Society and the Future of East Asia", a memorial ceremony for Prof. Ulrich Beck was hosted by the Joongmin Foundation at Korea Press Center, Seoul. Members of the academic community, ordinary citizens, and prominent figures in Korean society paid their respects to the late Professor Ulrich Beck. Aside from memorial addresses by people who had personal connections to Professor Beck, the ceremony included traditional Buddhist rites and a Korean traditional music performance.
