On Jan. 10, Ahn Cheol-soo, a former co-chairman of the main opposition party, held the first convention of his new party, People's Party, where the party appointed Han Sang-jin, the president of Joongmin Foundation for Social Theory, as a co-chairman of the committee that will prepare for the party’s establishment next month. Han will co-chair the preparatory committee with Yoon Yeo-Joon, a former environment minister. In a founding declaration statement, the party said: “We declare the end of the outdated and incapable bipartisan system.”
