Joongmin (中民) ‘Joongmin’ pertains to members of society who are traditionally classified as the middle class due to rapid economic development but still maintain a healthy sense of national identity, ‘min(民)’ and work towards the promotion of rational reforms and participation in society. In the polarized society of the status quo, the ‘Joongmin’ aim to promote, rather than self-serving purposes, equality and fairness for all members of society, especially the weak and oppressed through horizontal channels of communication and active membership in a participatory society.
